The 27 women writers included here have certainly done their jobs well. Any one of these truly great stories will send shivers down your spine. Although there are too many writers to make note of all of their names, here are a few to give the reader an idea of the quality of the literature; Daphne du Maurier, Rebecca West, Ruth Rendall, Antonia Fraser, Edith Wharton, and Penelope Lively. This book is wonderfully spooky, and the stories are also wonderfully well written.
