At first I didn't expect much--just fluff with monks instead of fluff with hunks. But it was a very quick, witty, romantic read! I found myself laughing aloud a few times at the various witticisms by Rebecca, the main character and Mike, the monk. There was certainly a spiritual struggle going on with both characters, paired with a yearning for a relationship unlike the ones they had before they met each other. Very good and a very quick read!

This is a relatively short book - one that could be easily read in an afternoon, but I found myself savoring it over several days. About 1/2 through I found myself thinking that I would keep this on my bookshelf forever, but having finished it I know I must send it on to the next reader to also savor and enjoy! There is humor, pathos, romance, and comtemplative soul searching all rolled into this story. Rebecca and Mike are characters that I could see myself having dinner with and calling my friends; Phoebe is just quirky and eccentric enough to make me want to invite her too just so the evening didn't get too quiet! I loved this book.

A somewhat different story for a change.

I did not like this book. I thought it was going to be something different because of the classification, but I was disappointed. It is about what it says it is, but there is quite a bit of foul language used including taking the Lord's name in vain. It also has the main characters sleeping together by the middle of the book.

I will say that it is well written, so if none of the above offends you, this may be the book for you. But, if you do not appreciate the above, skip this one and move on to the next.
