I noticed that this month's October Hot Topics were all posted by the same person Erek M.  Are there any rules on how monthly Hot Ttopics are selected for discussion?  Can any member post any topic for discussion under Hot Topics or are they randomly selected by R&R?  I could not find a button for posting new topics under the Hot Topics.

Suggestions for Hot Topics are sent to R&R. They choose what topics to use.

I noticed that Erek M. posted all of this month's Hot Topics on the same day one minute apart, 10/11/07 at 12: 13 PM, 12:14 PM, and 12:15 PM ET.  I'm wondering how Erek managed to post all topics closely like that and still had time to submit them to R&R first?

It's R&R that change/post the hot topics.  That's why sometimes they don't get changed right on time.  They get busy with other things...

I had suggested, in another thread of a similar topic, that if they are too busy to update the hot topics, perhaps they should just take them down, for now.  I think it would make a better impression on new comers to have nothing up there instead of such tardy topics.  JMHO.  I know they're busy.  I'm not at all upset about it, just making a suggestion.

I was actually in comimunication with Erek in the last couple of weeks on this.  I asked him how he was able to be the OP on the Hot Topics.  He said he is one of the staff so he set up the October topics.  He said thta if I had suggestions for new ones to send them to him....which I did, for December topics.  Then nothing.  I PM'd him again at the first of this week to find out if perhaps my topics didn't fit what he was thinking for...and that I noticed it'd been since October since things were changed.  Not trying to nag, but you know.  LOL

Anyway, I've heard nothing from him and obviously the topics are still the same.  Ho-hum.  giggle
