Monty converted Derek Tangye from a cat-hater to cat-lover. When Derek and his wife Jeannie left London and first arrived at the cottage they had bought in Cornwall, Monty leaped over a stream at the boundary of the property, and the spot was ever after called Monty's Leap. Even when Jeannie died, Derek stayed on there with his animals--not only a cat, but two donkeys--and there was no lack of visitors who had read his book The Minnack Chronicles. The fact that Jeannie is gone gives the book a bittersweet flavor, but it is very enjoyable. Now I am off to try to find a copy of The Minnack Chronicles!
Odd little story. Thought provoking and causes one to ponder. Book in great shape.
