There is a new and deadly infection showing up in emergency rooms in the Pacific Northwest. A "superbug" that is resistant to any known treatment. Can Dr. Catalina Lopez of the CDC and infectious disease specialist Dr. Graham Kilburn find a way to stop this growing epidemic or will the "someone" succeed.

My favorite author Nelson Demille had high praise for this book and after reading it I agree. A doctor who keeps your interest. A+

Great medical thriller. Those in the medical field will enjoy it. A CDC doctor fights a resistant form of Group A strep. I will look for more books by this author.

Fantastic medical thriller with twists and turns all the way. Scary reality of how fast a resistant bacteria can terrorize the country. Can't wait for his new book!

Combine a good police procedural with the best of Robin Cook, and you come up with this winner. Well written, good twists right up to the end. Couldn't put it down, can't wait to read more from this author :-)

No treatment. No cure. No hope

Once it seemed as though penicillin and other antibiotics had won humanity a lasting victory over harmful bacteria. But now hardier bugs, resistant to most common classes of antibiotics, are emergingâ"with potentially catastrophic consequences.

When Dr. Catalina Lopez of the Center for Disease Control first receives a report of a lethal new âsuperbugâ immune to all known antibiotics, she realizes that she has a major health crisis on her hands. An ultra-resistant form of group A strep is spreading like wildfire throughout hospitals and emergency rooms in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. Doctors, lacking any effective way to combat the infection, can do nothing but stand by and watch their patients die, one after another.

Dr. Graham Kilburn, an infectious disease specialist in Vancouver, is one such doctor. Desperate to contain the spread of the new superbug, he joins forces with Lina Lopez as they try to find some way to halt the growing epidemic.

What they don't realize is that shadowy forces are conspiring to spread the disease on purposeâ"and they will stop at nothing to avoid exposure.
