I really like Jude Deveraux. However, I couldn't finish this book. It was boring. It read like a first time novel; very amateurish. I thought I was almost finished (read on a kindle) and then discovered I was only at 50%. I just couldn't keep going. I won't be reading the rest of this trilogy. Very sad.

It was a sweet story. It had Cyrano de Bergerac undertones to it. Jecca was strong and independent while Tristan was romantically old-fashioned. The book seems a bit long for such a simple storyline, but it did introduce you to many lovable characters. I can't wait to read more of the Edilean series, especially the next book with Jecca's best friend, Kim. I've been reading Jude Deveraux books since I was a a pre-teen and wish that they'd be made into TV-movies.
