Morton's List The End to Boredom Recommended for open-minded players, ages 16-26. Box Set contains: 1 402-page game book, six 6-sided dice, one 30-sided die, and one velveteen dice pouch with debossed Morton's List logo. Mortons List is the first of an entirely new genre of games: real-life gaming. There is no board, except the ground you walk on. There are no acted... more » characters, only the players themselves. It is the first game you live. It allows you to see the world of real-life adventure that exists all around us in everyday life. It is the End to Boredom. The rules are simple. The first 12 pages of the book explain everything you need to know. Briefly, how it works is like this: you get together with some friends and all decide to play. Everyone then makes an oath that they will do whatever activity (called a Quest) that the game sets out before them (as long as its reasonably possible, and doesnt conflict with their morals). Until the game is done these players are collectively called the Inner Circle. Next, dice are rolled to determine one from among the group who will act as the leader, and help guide everyone. This person is called the Table Master. The Table Master then rolls the giant 30-sided die and consults the game book to find out exactly what everyone will be doing for the next hour (or more if they want to keep playing). Thats it. Simple as that. Every time you play you could find yourself doing some new fun thing that you never would have thought of before. Each Quest in Mortons List covers a different angle of life. There are 360 different, detailed Quests, each full of ideas and examples. 360, one each for the 360 degrees in the circle of life. Thus, everything, and we mean EVERYTHING is covered. If its fun, then like Prego: its in there. The Quests are broken into 13 different sections of the game, called Tables. Each Table has a different theme:
Solar Rise: daytime Quests (nature, miniature golf, fishing, etc.) /
Yin of the Earth: dark Quests (taboos , revenge, pleasure, etc.) /
Twilight Scroll: beyond Quests (nearly impossible goals humanity is striving for). This is not just some ordinary game on the shelf, but a mystical tome filled with EVERY fun activity on Earth and beyond. If you sat down for a year and thought of every weird, fun, cool, crazy, unique thing that youve ever done for fun, or ever just heard about, you would not think of anything thats not already fully included in Mortons List: The End to Boredom. So who plays Mortons List: The End to Boredom? Well, anyone can. Its got something of interest for anyone no matter how offbeat their tastes. Even opposite people could each love the game, so whether youre a burnout or a prep, a born again Christian or a wiccan pagan, crazy paid or poor as hell, you can play. The only requirement is an open mind. Anyone who know what he or she like to do and never wants to do something new or different isnt suited for this game. Mortons List is about new experiences, new adventures, going beyond what you know so that you can find new things you love. If you are perfectly happy in every way with your life as it is and arent curious about what else is out there, then you dont need Mortons List. Be ready for anything, because thats exactly what youll get playing this game: anything, everything, and more. People all over the world are playing right now, and having real-life adventures. Everyone who plays the game, even once, is automatically a part of THE Inner Circle: the group of people who have ever played the game. Its as simple as that no ceremony, no certificate. You know who you are, and whether or not you belong to the Inner Circle. This Inner Circle is permanent. It starts with your first time playing and goes from there. It doesnt dissolve until the Big Table Master From Beyond declares that infinity is up. Everyone in the Inner Circle can contact each other, share stories, discuss experiences, meet each other, talk online, etc.Mortons List is your passport to a strange land full of real-life adventure. It sets before you various Quests, seemingly at random, yet the more you play and the deeper you get into the game, you will begin to understand the difference between chance and fate. Somewhere between chance and fate is a powerful force . A power that puts meaning into coincidences. Some call it synchronicity, we call it Karma. It is an inner positively that you feel when you look at the world and see unlimited possibilities, new avenues and doors opening everywhere you turn. Playing this game you could change your life forever, meet the lover of your dreams, or have the best time of your life, but no matter what you will have incredible experiences and memories to share forever.
