I'm all over the map on this one. The various actors/narrators helped keep the story lines clear, just by the difference in vocalizations. When I read the flyleaf and synopsis initially I got the impression this was going to revolve around racial tensions in the South during the 1950's, this is more of a tool rather than an integral part of the story. Each character is relaying their story of Henry Walker, as it was told to them by Henry. So if there ever was a case of "many truths". this is it. It's a departure from my usual tastes and I found that I truly wanted a tidier ending, something that said the end and this is what happened. It sort of reminded of old monster movies when "the End" comes up with a question mark. All these characters were brought into the story and there's really only a one liner to bring them all together almost at the end. I don't need to listen to it again but if Tim Burton made a movie (Big Fish) I would go see it.
