Has anyone tried the option in PayPal to create up to 50 labels per session?  There are plenty of times when I get up to around 10 or more books.

(On my knees -- Please someone who ships more than I do, test it for us.)

Failing that, I just figured out how to print 2 labels per sheet and not print a receipt for me (thanks for both instructions from this discussion group), has anyone been able to print 4 labels on a sheet?  My thinking is that you can do it the same way you do for 2 labels (by repositioning the paper) but PayPal would have to think that you are mailing 4x6 postcards.

In any case, thanks to those who put back on the PayPal track.  I'd used it for years and even knew about this hidden link.  But I really wanted to get some revenue for PBS so I used their DC.  I'd love to continue that but PayPal is going to be less stress to me in the long run.

Well, I had nothing better to do last week, so I tested it.

My review:  IT ROCKS.

I did write up directions and tips to include here, but I think my laptop's HD crashed.  I'll call in the geek squad over the weekend to see what can be recovered.

A lot of it is self-explanatory but when I was writing I included the reasons why I chose to do things the way I did.  One example, I used the ISBN as the item number and the title of the book as the item name.  This means I will be able to pull books by ISBN and / or title.  I used the PBS REQ ID somewhere, prefaced by PBS ReqID so that I could do the same with a half.com or eBay sale.  Use the appropriate name, eg eBay, and that system's transaction number).

And I learned the hard way that when my first label didn't print at home right before the HD crash, I should've gone to another PC somewhere and tried again.  Reprinting postage only works for a day.

The best part -- I could add labels all day long (or even all week) and just print them when I have the time to wrap them.  Multi-ship gives you the option to print two reports along with your labels and one is a list you can use to pull all the books from your shelves.  I combined PBS, Half.com, eBay, and personal labels in this multiship.

The only thing I wonder about now is if the PBS Req ID is needed on the label anymore?  I haven't seen it as an option to check books in when they are delivered.

Hey Ange, keep us updated. I am now beta testing the new PBS postage, however, its good to have a back up. I do like Paypal as an alternative, for whatever reason it might be needed.

Okay, I forgot to stress the most important thing:  Take PayPal's advice in printing the reports they recommend.  I forgot to print it and I am back at the library to see which label goes with which book.

The report they suggest (can't remember the name right now) gives you a list of items to pull from your shelves and assigns them a code.  That code is printed sideways on the label across from your return address.  (The other report is a packing list.  I have no use for that.)

I love the paypal multi-order shipping and use it all the time!!  The list that I print shows the DC #, Name and address of the person you sent to.  I will make myself a little note about which book I sent to each person, and mark them off when they get delivered.  Like you, I have used it to combine half.com, PBS...

Ange, Melissa, how did you get PayPal to not print the reciept on other half of the page? I used the multi-order, but now we use the half sheet labels, and don't want to waste the second label on the sheet.

I think I changed it in my printer settings but only using the PRINT button you get on the PayPal printing page.  I went in under printer preferences offered there and it worked.

I figured that out from someone here more adept than I:  I've lived with those receipts since 1999!  I think it is under the thread of I Love PayPal (or something close).

I ask because I have went in to the settings on PayPal and told it not to print the reciept, and it does it anyway. Thought maybe you'd figured out something different, since that doesn't work for me :(

Sherry,

Did my really vague memory of changing the PayPal settings work?

I know I was thrilled to find out you could put an end to the receipt portion.  I found some receipts from 2005 when I was cleaning behind my desk yesterday.

I use it all the time and love it!  I've gotten so I double check my labels against the address listed  in the details section for each book I am shippin (in my PBS account).  saves me from wasting paper printing out extra reports and ensures I am matching books and labels up correctly!

When I use multi order it never prints the receipt on the bottom of the page, and I don't think I changed settings on it.  I only get the receipt on the bottom half when I use the single order label.  I always cut off the bottom of the paper (where the receipt would usually print) and use it for scratch paper at work.

Sherry --

You might have to also change the settings in your printer.  Maybe changing the paper size would work.

I wish I had taken notes...
