This book is a great resource to have about MS, most recent theories about its causes, and recent developments in treatment. However, it's a bit technical so is geared more towards people with a good general medical understanding. It would not be my first recommendation for helping newly diagnosed patients cope with the disease, but if you are looking for well-documented evidence about the various treatment options (including some alternative therapies) this is a great place to look. There are a ton of references to medical journals and clinical trials.
