Light mystery - good for the beach, etc. Her character is a self-indulgent as she is - very self-absorbed.

Joan Rivers, Jerrilyn Farmer - what a strange combination, but the team wrote a really funny book set against the Hollywood stage of high fashion clothes, shoes, jewelry, gossip, restaurants, parties, and the cut-throat business of the media that covers tinsel town's inhabitants. The heroine, Max and her daughter are celebrity interviewers on the night of the Academy Awards when one of the young nominees for best actress drops dead literally on Max's feet. Throw in the daughter's sleazy ex-fiance as a murder suspect and Max will do anything to make sure her daughter isn't drawn back into his life when he chooses the daughter's home to hide out at. Add Max's boyfriend, entourage of employees and her seven pound dog, Killer and you have a funny mix that makes a really enjoyable book.

I really enjoyed this book. I have to say, I was surprised Joan Rivers put together such an entertaining book. It was light and fun, with a few surprises. In fact, it made me want to read the books Jerrilyn Farmer had written
