It took me a while, but I finally figured out that Whatcom County, being in the northwest corner of the state of Washington (though not on the Olympic Peninsula), is the 4th corner of the contiguous United States, (presumably, Northern Maine, Dade County and San Diego County have precedence when counting corners)
