Queen Elizabeth I is just taking her place as the new Queen of England with all its attendant pageantry. Her favorite musician is a lovely lute player whose father has arranged all the music for the queen's coronation and parties. When red-headed look-alikes to the queen are being murdered, Kate Haywood puts aside her lute to enter into the intrigues and gossip of court life to help the Queen find the killer and nearly becomes a victim herself. A fascinating look into the spectacle of a new regent coming to the throne of England and Elizabethan London.
