I have a pretty incredible book on how to do anything Native American from snowshoes to horsehair to porcupine quills with strong emphasis on beadwork, navaho weaving, and rope cordage. Book privately published in 1937 by Lester Griswold. Too good a book to trade, but will give it to the right crafter. I am wildhog3.

hi my name is barb, i have been beading for about 19 years.  i did my first piece after attending my first pow wow.then spent the next 5 yrs. learning the differnt styles, and made so many ear rings, and necklaces, i hope to never have to make them again, lol  i now sell my work on line, or take personal orders.  several years ago for christmas, my daughter inlaw gave me a book similar to the one you describe.  does your also give instructions for brain tanning? I use to have a great many craft books, but all i have left today are the beading books i bought when i was first starting out.  I get my beads from baker bay bead company here in oregon, i met them at my first pow wow. they have  about the best prices for seed beads, and they have a great catalogue. i like to work in size `15s to do portraits of animals, such as bears, wolves, and i do country scenes with nightime  lightening.  there is a story in that!  i you wish i will tell it to you.  i like to write, though my spelling at times leads a lot to be desired, i have a book almost written, 500 pages hand written, and i had 200 typed when i got a virus last year, and it wiped my computer out, but i was smart enought to back up the first 125 pages,  so i am now in the process of trying to recreate the pages i lost, as they were not hand written, nor were they saves, i had a great insight one night and went to town, then lost it all. .  i spend a lot of time doing papers on the puter for my partner as he is now back in school and cant type a lick, lol ugh!  if you have any interesting beading designs, you wouild like to share, or need a certain pattern let me know.( I have a lot) i hope you found a good person for your book!  a good book is hard to come by! ( I am not asking for the book) i live in a 5th wheel in a county park, which allows me lots of time to read, and bead. and day dream outside as much as possible, where i can watch the eagles, osprey, hawks, deer, fox, beaver, and other  inspired let me see them.   thanks for taking the time to read,  most sincerely barb  (snoweagls@aol.com

Sounds like a great book! I am very into Native American arts, crafts and culture and would be very interested in the book. Several years back, I took a Native American Arts and Crafts class at a local college and that got me hooked on native American style beading, and basketry, although I've always been into crafting of all types.

I've been a crafter for years and especially Native American crafts.  What I do on here, is when I see a book I'm interested in, if there isn't a review, and sometimes even if there is, I go to Amazon and check.  If it doesn't have any reviews there, I generally won't take a chance on it.  Some reference books are very dull and not well written.  I have a library of just craft books on subjects that I'm interested in, and wouldn't part with them at all.

So have you found anyone interested in your book? I would love to have it. I've been hanging out at some paleo/primitive living/native tech sites recently, trying to learn all I can. So please let me know if its available still or not.

Thanks
