A novella (150 pages) capturing Garrett & Lauren's story that started in book #3 (The Enforcer). Lauren's husband was lost at sea after he bilked their accounts and ruined their business and financials. Matthias, Wren, & Garrett were looking into it further. Six months later Lauren opens her door and her husband is standing there like nothing happened and later he's dead on the floor. Bad timing, mysterious suspects, and a battle of trying to start a relationship have Garrett and Lauren on a fast track to either disaster or bliss.
