Read the book The Four Agreements a long time ago, but it has been showing up in my life here the past couple of days, so, not one to ignore the little "coincidences" in life here it is, or rather here they are: 1. Be impeccable with your word. 2. Don't take anything personally. 3. Don't make assumptions. 4. Always do your best. Every day is a new day, we start with a clean slate, to write on it whatever we chose to. Chose good stuff!! Cheers, Margaret |

The 4 Agreements is a book of common sense. (we all know its not that common) It is an interesting read and a thought provoking book but there are some bits in it that are just too ..... out there. For instance in the book he says if someone shoots you in the head dont take it personally. Well I dont take most things personally but a bullet is pretty personal. So its mostly common sense and a decent read but its rather... unreasonable at times. |

LOL Chris - yeah a bullet in the head is very personal when it's your head!! I think the point Ruiz was making is that the shooter would shoot any other person in the same way if they were in the same position - it's not particular to you. I prefer to think about that in places like the grocery store, the clerk is not out to be nasty to me in particular, but is nasty to all the customers! Haven't been in the "gun to the head" situation so don't really know if I'd be able to be so philosophical then! Ha Cheers, Margaret

Oh I know the point he was making just some of the things he says in the book are not very good examples for the point he is making. Like the bullet. |
