Just heard what the commisioners office has decided to do about the Patriots videotaping the Jets signs last week.  I am a huge Patriots fan, but I have to say I'm a little disappointed in the penalties, I personally think they should have been harsher.  Fining Belicheck for $500,000 is okay, but I really think he should have been suspended for at least 2 games.  To so blatantly do something against league rules and then say he thought he had a difference of opinion about "interpreting" the rules really annoys me.  Even I, with my limited football knowledge, know you can't do that.  Obviously he knew it too, and got stuck with his hand in the cookie jar.

Fining the Patriots team $250,000 is okay, but losing their first round draft pick (if they get one) doesn't seem like a real penalty to me.  Who knows if they will end up with a first round pick at all?

Just my opinion - what does everyone else think??
