I just joined a few days ago since I have been on another book swapping site and someone posted the link to this site in the discussion forums there.  I would like to take advantage of the Boxer deal but right now I have only listed a few brand new audiobooks (since I have duplicates of those and they are worth more points) so I have only the 2 points I earned by listing six of them since no one has requested them.  I have seen people get into trouble by listing the same inventory on multiple sites and then not being able to honor requests because the book has already been sent to someone else at another site so I prefer not to list my entire book inventory from the other site here.  I may list another 3 books or audiobooks for an additional point but I don't know what to list since I don't know what people have on their wishlists.

If anyone is interested in trading points from another site in exchange for the $8.50 ($8 plus $.50 transaction fee) it costs to be a Boxer here, I will trade 8 Book Mooch points (1 point = 1 book) for a Boxer gift certificate.  It looks like there is an option of purchasing electronic gift certificates or perhaps the money could be deposited directly into my account and I could use it to purchase the Boxer special.  If you would prefer I send you books in exchange for the cost of a Boxer membership, my inventory is at www.BookMooch.com/m/inventory/Resurrected_Books.

If anyone is looking for books that I have listed in my Book Mooch inventory, I will gladly remove them from Book Mooch and list them here.  Right now it is more to my benefit to keep them at Book Mooch because I earn .1 point for each book in my inventory there and I won't earn anything beyond the initial 3 points for 9 listings here.  Since the only way to see feedback for people here is to be a Boxer and trade with other Boxers, that seems like the best way for me to go since I don't even have many PBS points right now.

Is anyone interested in trading their PBS points for my Book Mooch points?  There are a number of my wishlist books here and I don't have the points nor have I been able to become a Boxer.

Dustine,

The solution is really very simple. PaperbackSwap has something called a TBR pile. You can find it under My Lists. When you post a book TBR, other members don't even see it. However, a big red or green "W" appears to the right if someone wants your book. A green "W" means that it's on "auto-order" and an exchange will happen after one hour if you post the book. Just check-mark the book and hit the convert tab to add it to your BookShelf.

I list my books on both sites, and just keep track. I haven't been double-mooched yet.

I always go for the points on PBS if I have a choice. There seems to be a much more diverse inventory here.

I hope this helps,

Alan

Alan, that is great suggestion!  I finally went through my Book Mooch wishlist and converted it here so now I can start putting my inventory in the TBR list.  I am slowly learning how to use the various features here.  I did get an offer for a gift certificate and I have filled my end of the bargain so I am just waiting for an e-mail with the code to use at the kiosk.  Hopefully I will be a boxer soon.  Maybe I will even get some points by discovering that I have books that others are already looking for.  I would put books on my wishlist on auto-order if I only had the points.

you can also buy credits to use here..I do it all the time ( and I do mean ALL the time LOL!) the kiosk sells them and there are several people posting here in the bazaar who sell them fairly frequently with paypal, like betsy and Winston and with money order (amber's one I know of along with winston too I think) for $28-$30 usually for 10 credits.

I don't have the money to buy credits but I have lots of books or Book Mooch points to trade for credits so I was hoping to trade what I have for what I need.  I had a request for my first book today so I just have to wait for them to receive it in order to get the point!  I already spent my initial three points since there were so many good books available.  I did not get the gift certificate code from the person who offered to trade but hopefully she will be sending it to me in an e-mail soon.

I put my inventory in my TBR list and one of the books I had was on someone's wishlist but they have not requested it yet so perhaps they will soon.  I listed the wishlist book and those books from my inventory that were not already in the system so I will see how that works for starters.  I just have to remember to keep track here and on Book Mooch so I don't end up not having a book I have listed.

I am a boxer now!  I may need to post my entire inventory here in case any other boxers want to trade for those books.  I am going to start checking out the inventories of other boxers in case any of the books on my reminder list can be traded with another boxer.  I am still willing to trade my Book Mooch points for PBS points if anyone has points to spare.
