Hello all,

I've fallen in love with the Brotherhood series!  Zadist is my favorite story so far.  I'm really only interested in vampires as far as paranormal reading goes, so are there any more series out there as unique and well written as this one?  Thanks for any suggestions.

Jennie

I don't know of any, but I just had to say that I'm almost finished with Dark Lover, and it is really good.  I didn't think I'd like this series.  I think maybe it was the covers that were turning me off (I know, it's silly).  I'll definitely be reading the rest of the series, though.  I can't think of anything else I've read that is similar, though.

I know what you mean, I fell in love with the Black Dagger Brotherhood when I read the first book also.  :)  As far as looking for books as well written and like them, it is hard to do, I don't think I found any, and I have been reading alot of paranormal lately.  JR Ward is just an excellent writer, she just pulls you in and you get addicted for more and more about the lives of the BDB.  This series is the only series I am keeping to read over and over, and I have been reading along time and alot of books.  For your question though, I have found quite a few series that I have enjoyed as well.

There is Lara Adrians books, Kiss of Midnight and Kiss of Crimson.  They are VERY similar to the BDB in fact, some say TOO similar, but they were good reads.  Also, Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series is VERY good, they are more lighter and funny but still good reads.  I also fell in love with Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake series.  Her books are a little different and alot of folks don't like them, but I LOVED the series and can't wait for the next installment.  I also just read Jenna Blacks Watchers in The Night.  I really enjoyed this one, and I can't wait to read the rest and I fell in love with Jules and especially Drake.

Endoux, just wait until you get to the rest, they get better as they go.  I am anxiously waiting for Vishous, since he is my favorite brother, although, I loved them all when I read them.  :)

Thanks everyone for the for the suggestions and the shared love for the Brotherhood! :)

Thanks Paula for the suggestions on Lara Adrian, I checked them out and it seems just what I'm looking for, I put myself on the wishing list.

I was on the wish list for the BDB books, but it was taking so long, that I sneeked over to Ebay and snagged all four from a seller for just $23 including shipping!!  Now that I've read through the first 3 I'm folding them back into PBS.  I rarely ever reread books and knew it'd be a quick way to get credits.

I'm just starting on book four about Butch.  I'm skeptical about it because I just don't care for his character much.  But I have faith in JR Ward and at this point I'd read anything relating to the Brothers.

Have you all checked out her web site?  She's got "deleted scenes" from the books and "interviews" she did with each brother about his particular book.  It's really cool!

I am glad you found the Lara Adrian books.  They are really good, although I liked the second one better than the first.

As for Butch's book, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.  I didn't care for his character much either, but after reading that book, I started to like him more, but Vishous plays a big part also.  I REALLY started liking him more in Butch's book, and can't wait to see how things go in his book.  I am counting the days until the end of Sept.  :)

I am a member of the BDB  forum, and it is awesome.  The WARDen is really good to her fans, and pops in to chat and give little tidbits of upcoming books.  I also like to join the chats, and talk with her and "the Brothers".   She really has some dedicated fans.

You all take care and have a GREAT weekend! :)

I just got books 3 and 4 from the library.  I can't think of the names right now.  The second one wasn't there, so I guess I'll skip that for now.  I don't know if that's advisable or not (to skip books), but I don't want to wait for inter-library loan on the second one.  And I'm waaaaay down on the wishlist here for all of them.

Oh, and the funny thing is, I had Lover Revealed, but I traded it in an elephant swap because I hadn't read the first books.  But now that I've read Dark Lover, I realize these are probably keeper books for me.  Too late now.  LOL

the first paranormal romance i read was one of the bdb and i loved it. i read the rest in the series and then started looking for more in the genre like it, not thinking i would ever find anything near as good, but i found that Kresley Coles Imortals After Dark series was  pretty good also.

I didn't think I was going to get in the series either, but I am hooked!!!!

I didn't really care for Butch's character either, but I think he is one of my faves now. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

Scent of Darkness and Touch of Darkness by Christina Dodd are pretty good but not in the same league as BDB.   Still a pretty good series so far.
