The other one seemed to be mostly devoted to the Spector case so I'll open this new one just for Zodiac. I just recently watched the movie and really enjoyed it. I didn't know anything about the case and so when I watched it I was/am convinced that Arthur Leigh Allen is/was the Zodiac. I was channel surfing this afternoon and saw a show on A&E about Zodiac and was amazed at how accurate the movie was to the facts! They did a fantastic job! They also did a really great job casting the movie! Jake Gyllenhall really looks alot like Robert Graysmith and John Carroll Lynch really looked alot like Arthur Leigh Allen! I think the DNA test they did isn't conclusive b/c they tested an over 30 year old sample from an envelope! How accurate could that be?!?! There is no doubt in my mind that Arthur Leigh Allen was the killer. I hope he's burning in hell where he belongs!!! It's just too bad that all those families didn't get any justice or closure here on earth before he died. |

Haven't seen the move, but wanted to comment on the DNA testing, since I was a molecular biologist. Old blood samples *can* liberate usable DNA. It just depends on the sample. Sometimes it's so degraded, you get nothing but crud, other times, it will give you data. If they tested the sample, were able to extract DNA that was intact, and were able to generate data, then that data is probably accurate. If the blood sample is no good, the DNA will either not be liberated (too chewed up or absent) or it will be basically just a bunch of cut up, unidentifable pieces, which aren't suitable for genotyping. |

They didn't really say exactly what the results of the test were...just that they were inconclusive. |
