This graphic novel is the first part to a bigger story. It features the X-Men and Avengers from the ULTIMATE universe. It sets you up for a confrontation with Galactus which must happen later because it doesn't happen here. This is a collection of stories from ULTIMATE NIGHTMARE #1-5. Artwork is done well and the storyline is good.
This book is a precursor to an event that hits the Ultimate Universe later on. It features big names, like Captain America, Wovlerine, and Nick Fury, but also puts a unique emphasis on the slightly less well known characters. It shows a ghastly atmosphere where the Soviet Union has been making its own super soldiers with by upgrading them through severe surgery. The other thing I love about this book is that the characters see that their mere existence hurts thousands, and that even the most noble of causes can be made unaware and unobservant of the world around them. Overall, very creepy, but very good. Excellently fresh take on the Silver Surfer and explanation of a real world happening.
