Ahhhh... visit with Brian and Michael in their high school years! This was a great book to look at the "before" of the boys. No, it's not high literature, but who cares? I miss the TV show - it was one of my favorites - it's always nice to visit again with the characters!

As far as dirty tv novelizations go, this was top notch. Don't compare to actual literature and you'll be just fine.

Based on the characters of Brian and Michael in the Showtime series, Queer as Folk, this book recounts the last high school days of these two friends.

I really enjoyed this series when it was on showtime, I enjoyed this book just as much. I took it on a long train ride and couldn't put it down. I finished it in practically one sitting. Its set in the time before the series as we know it begins, so its sort of a Brain and Michael story. Still a good read.

This book isn't going to set anything on fire. (Unlike the series!) However, if you did watch the series then I recommend the book. It's lovely to see these characters again and visit with them when they were younger and much less self-assured (in Brian's case anyway). If you are interested in the series, this isn't a bad place to start!

the queer as folk books can be an easy, amusing read if you take them as complete fluff and dont expect much from them. they're highly entertaining, but at times it feels like you're reading bad fanfic. still, it can be alot of fun simply spotting all of the blatant show tie-ins. if youre not a fan of the series, these books will probably fall flat.
