Arguably Christie's masterpiece, and certainly her darkest tale, And Then There Were None takes you to Indian Island where 10 strangers have been lured to face the unspeakable crime each has committed and gotten away with....until now. As each of the 10 die one by one, the other realize the net is closing in and there's no way to discover their unknown avenger or escape his or her unerring execution of justice. Brilliantly written, you can feel the atmosphere of suspicion and dread growing with each death and a twist ending that only the most astute will see coming.

Never have I read a book so articulate! If you can guess the solution before the very last chapter, then you must be a genius. And even then, your questions of how it was done aren't answered until the very last paragraph! Absolutely amazing, and I only hope Agatha Christie's other books are this incredible!

This was my first foray into the Queen of Crime: Agatha Christie's extensive catalouge. The book is a little slow in the beginning to the point I almost put it down. Now that would have been a dreadful mistake because as soon as the cast of characters get on Indian Island I could not put the book down. Christie paints a vivid portrait that reveals how deadly secrets can be. Absolutely wonderful read and hope you pick it up and enjoy it as much as I did.

One by one, the suspects are dying. Each one was invited to vacation at a beautiful island estate. Each one brings a tainted past. At least one of them is intent on murder and no one knows why. One by one they die, until, at the end, there is an answer.

This interesting twist on the 'locked room' murder is one of Christie's best. Without Miss Marple or Inspector Poirot to guide you, your suspicions are free to move among all the guests as you try to sort through the false clues and red herrings to figure out who is the mastermind and what is the motivations for this tale of bizarre justice and revenge.

You have undoubtedly read several variations of this plot by others - now read the original written by the queen of mystery and suspense herself, Agatha Christie. This is one of her very best!

Formerly called "Ten Little Indians," this book is a mystery about a group on vacation that keep dying according to the well-known children's rhyme. A really intriguing book!

One of the best books I've ever read! Saw the movie adaptation in school, "Ten Little Indians" and was hooked on the characters and story plot. Ingeniously clever. Brilliant author. Take some time to enjoy this one!

10 people meet for the first time at a house on a island. They were all invited by the owner of the house. As they get to know each other, they begin to wonder where the owner is and strange circumstances follow. First they find a morbid poem about ten Indians who die one by one in specific ways, and then people start dying under the same circumstances as the Indians in the poem.

I was a little afraid when I started reading this book that I would have to remember every detail of the characters being presented, but that wasn't necessary. It was a quick read and fast paced, and I never guessed who the killer was in the end. It was also complicated, but not so much that I didn't understand what was going on. I had never read anything by Agatha Christie, and this was a good one to start with.

I read this when I was in high school. My mom recommended this book by Agatha Christie and said she was just a great author and I might enjoy it. I understood the storyline and while I did finish it, I remember fairly little.

I do want to say, its written in older English dialect so some people might have a tough time understanding what she is writing. That was one of my problems, a lot of the words were confusing to me. But now, 10 years later, I might understand it better.

Considered the best mystery novel ever written by many readers, And Then There Were None is the story of 10 strangers, each lured to Indian Island by a mysterious host. Once his guests have arrived, the host accuses each person of murder. Unable to leave the island, the guests begin to share their darkest secrets--until they begin to die.

One of Christie's pure puzzle mysteries, and rightfully a classic. Anyone who can solve this one on the first read-through is a master mystery decoder! There is no brilliant detective and there is absolutely no pause in the action until everything is over and done -- and the almost thirty pages of epilogue is absolutely necessary to work everything out. Great fun!

First there were ten-a curious assortment of strangers summoned as weekend guests to a private island off the coast of Devon. Their host, an eccentric millionaire unknown to all of them, is nowhere to be found. All that the guests have in common is a wicked pat they're unwilling to reveal-and a secret that will seal their fate. For each has been marked for murder. One by one they fall prey. Before the weekend is out, there will be none. And only the dead are above suspicion.
