I really enjoyed reading this book. The protagonists are not the usual handsome Lord and the beautiful Lady. He was disfigured during a fire, trying to save his wife - she dies and he sustains extensive burns. Due to issues from his marriage and the scarring to his face and body, he lives like a recluse, until he attends a homecoming party for his best friend, where he meets our heroine Agatha, a plain Jane wallflower with a sharp tongue, and a scientist(she is interested in developing fertilizer for crops and plants). And there the adventure begins. Very sweet, although they misread each other's reactions and interpret them according to their individual insecurities, as they clear the air and get to know each other, it is lovely to see their characters grow into love. I recommend this historical romance.
