Back in my college days, Nine Inch Nails provided the soundtrack to my life. Nine Inch Nails and David Bowie was the first concert I went to on my own, without parental supervision.
Actually, it's still part of the soundtrack to my life. Some people have soundtracks scripted by Mozart, my soundtrack requires more cursing and social angst.
A few months ago, I saw a Kickstarter, trying to raise money to publish a comic book filled with comics based on different Nine Inch Nails songs. Having supported this group in the past (a comic book based on songs by the Pixies), I knew that they would contract with some amazing artists, and that the book would actually be published.
The book surpassed all my expectations. The art is gorgeous, and the stories brought back my love for Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails.
My favorites include the comics based on Happiness in Slavery, Ring Finger, and, Closer. Brilliant and disturbing, the dystopian world these comics invoke will make you very glad that this is fiction.
I don't know if the book will be available outside of Kickstarter, but I absolutely recommend this book to comic and music fans alike.
