I just finished For the Love of Mike by Rhys Bowen.  I really enjoy Molly Murphy as a character!

Read Mistress of Rome by Kate Quinn. 5 stars.  Loved this story and the author's  comments about the historical issues she used made it so interesting.

I just finished up the last book in that series, Lady of the Eternal City.  I thought they were all very good.

Just finished The Black Flower by Howard Bahr, a novel of the Civil War.  It's awesome.  The author does such an outstanding job of painting a picture of this sad historical event.  The key character is Bushrod Carter, a private in the Confederate Army, whose experiences mirror those of so many who went to war in this period.  He sees his friends disappear, die and leave him standing alone.  It's realistic, sad and a clear picture of humans involved in such chaos.  Five stars for sure.

I finished the Kennedy Debutante by Kerri Maher.  It was okay, but didn't love it. It was about Kathleen Kennedy. I don't think it was that well written.

Read Dreaming Spies by Laurie R. King, 3.5 stars.  Enjoyed parts of this novel very much.    Loved the trek through Japan as Mary Russell and Holmes trekked throughout Japan.  This was one of my favorite parts of the novel.  Really enjoyed the last few chapters as the story culminates in a surprising way.  I did feel that the trip on the ship to Japan was a little drawn out.

Reading The Pale Blue Eye which is rather fun.  E.A. Poe is assisting Lander, the investigator, in the murder of a WP cadet.

R.E.K. I loved The Pale Blue Eye when I read it a couple of years ago!  Not h/f, more of a dark fantasy type book, I've now started The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman.

I am hosting December- This book has been on my TBR too Long   It is not a game but you read a book that has been sitting around your TBR for a quite sometime and offer it up at the end of the swap. Great way to read an older book. Lots of chit chat too.  I have caught up on some of my older series.
