  I walk into the room
surrounded by butterflies,
carrying rare ferns
and bringing with me
a scented breeze to comfort you.

I write tiny love-words
on the inside of your eyelids
where only you will see them,

And you look past me,
oblivious.

Barbara Gregory (Pearlman)
from "PROCESS" - "AFTERFLASH" 1979
