I really didn't care how this story started out. It used the overly-done plot where two boys are both interested in the same girl and then after boy #2 is conveniently killed off, boy #1 feels he must avenge his best friend's death. The rest of the story then follows the overly dramatized journey of Torak on his quest for vengeance and the bumps in the road he comes across. One being the continued mistrust by the clans that he's in continual contact with during the series as well as another soul eater. Overall, I didn't feel that this book was as good as the ones before it, but it's not enough to turn me off the series. However, I will probably wait to use a credit to get my next books in it though.
