A riveting story of secret sin and the healing power of forgiveness. Airline pilot Connor Evans and his wife, Michele, seem to be the perfect couple living what looks like a perfect life. Then a plane goes down in the Pacific Ocean. One of the casualties is Kiahna Siefert, a flight attendant Connor knew well. Too well. Kiahna's will is very clear: before her seven-year-old son, Max, can be turned over to the state, he must spend the summer with the father he's never met, the father who doesn't know he exists: Connor Evans. Now will the presence of one lonely child and the truth he represents destroy Connor's family ? Or is it possible that healing and hope might come in the shape of a seven-year-old boy?

This was such a great book that I have ordered more of Karen Kingsbury's novels. I couldn't put it down until I had finished it. Kingsbury definitely paints a picture of the characters and the settings. It was a fast read as she kept the story going throughout the book. I found myself in tears at the end and I don't know that I have ever cried when reading any book. I have told numerous friends about this one but also told them they will have to go get their own copy. I am keeping mine!

Wow, really good book. The reader sees inside each person who deals with the unexpected trial that occurs in this story and feels their pain as each must deal with new knowledge. Kingsbury did a very good job of writing this book from all perspectives.

I read Karen Kingbury's novel very quickly. This story is about a young son who is suddenly left without his mother and no guaranteed place to live. The characters struggle with their relationships with each other and with God as they weave around trying to find where this little boy fits in. Karen writes from the heart and from her faith. In addition to this book, her 911 series is also very poignant.

I love anything Karen Kingsbury, this included. However, this is easily not my favorite. In my opinion, it wasn't written nearly as well as her other novels, and I found numerous editing errors. I wonder if it was one of her earlier novels. I still enjoyed it, but I would recommend Like Dandelion Dust before this one if you're looking for a standalone book to read (non-series.)

I loved this book. One of my favorites. The situation and God's intervention. You'll understand the problem, one and then those lessons learned. Karen Kingsbury is one of my favorite authors. True life experiences in relationships.

Read this book, and feel a sweet calming spirit as I do everytime I think of it.
