The most disconcerting thing I found was the author's decision to include several genre types in one fairly short book.
The leap-frogging through subjects/genres, even briefly, throughout the entire book (murder mystery, romance, theological pondering, and more) was a bit much for me. I would have liked the story better if it focused on the murder mystery. While the other details may have been added to help me connect with the main character, all it did for me was disrupt the flow of the story.
This book is okay and reads pretty fast. Not a total waste, but not a great read either. I gave it 2.5 stars.
