Rod is my favorite contemporary poet. His work is rhymed and metered (as real poetry should be), but never forced or contrived. Reading one of his poems is like peaking in on someone else's dream as they sleep. He also wrote the only poem I care to ever recite from memory (and can) "Timeless" - my very favorite poem of any ever read. Rod is better than Shakespeare. I wish more people knew about his work.
