A new twist on the classic "Arabian Nights" story collection. This time, the storyteller charming the murderous sultan is a man (which sets up a seemingly unending stream of cross-dressing jokes--and deservedly so). Whether the change was made for the shock value (cross-dressing!) or for chivalrous reasons in gender-role-conservative Korea (of course the man would do anything to save his sister and only a man would be calm and quick-thinking enough to come up with the storytelling idea), it doesn't really add that much to the story. Most of the book is actually consumed with the first of Seharazade's stories. The art is nice and well-suited to romance, but the overall effect is only okay. I'll be passing on volume 2 unless I hear of marked improvement.
