"Song of the West" was just ok, "Her Mother's Keeper" was one of the worst Nora stories I've ever read.

Song of the West

The towering mountains and windswept plains called to her. But she'd never intended to stay forever -- until Jake Tanner stirred her emotions like a summer tornado and made it impossible for her to leave. But no man was going to seduce Samantha Evans to give up her dreams. Even a cocky cowboy who made her blood go hot . . .

Her Mother's Keeper

She'd left town a starry-eyed innocent headed for the big city. Now Gwen Lacrosse returned home a savvy, sophisticated woman. But her mother's maddening new boarder enticed her as no one had before. Luke Powers was reputed to be an expert in both words and women -- and soon he was turning Gwen's cool reason into something else entirely . . .With Open Arms

Features two classic novels by the New York Times best-selling author--Song of the West, in which Samantha Evans falls for a handsome cowboy against her better judgment, and Her Mother's Keeper, in which Gwen Lacrosse finds herself attracted to her mother's infuriating new boarder. Original.

A bargain as this contains two of Nora's early books reissued in one!
Song of the West takes you to Wyoming and a romance between a city girl and a rancher.
Her Mother's Keeper takes place in the south where Gwen goes to help save her mother from an unsavory author! It turns out to be not quite what she expected.

2 of Nora Roberts' early stories: "Song of the West (1982)" and "Her Mother's Keeper (1983)."

The first story "features a cocky rancher who tries to convince a city gal to take a chance on romance." The second story "focuses on a confident young woman who returns home to Louisiana and is drawn into the arms of her mother's handsome young boarder."

This is some of the best of early Roberts!

One of Roberts' books that includes Her Mother's Keeper about a young woman who becomes a woman in the city, but returns home to fall in love. Also contains Song of the West, one of the few "westerns" Nora Roberts wrote.

I enjoyed this book very much. Of course....I may be biased...I just LOVE nora roberts! She is an amazing author and she has never let me down (Other than the fact that she doesn't write as fast as I read and I caught up with her a few years ago!)

This was my first experience reading Nora Roberts. This book is actually a re-issue of 2 of her early 80's Silhouette titles. They weren't bad. They were predictable, light and entertaining.

A fun quick read of two of Nora Roberts early series romances, now packaged together. She knows how to entangle her heroines in a romatic mess and then rescue them, deliciously.
