The characters in small town Vermont are engaging. The plot is has enough twists to keep your interest, as a small town cop attempts to solves multiple crimes that all seem to stem from a closed case. I'm looking forward to the next in this series.

My first Archer Mayor book and I was incredibly surprised. The story and plot line were unified and made smooth transitions. I was very surprised by the twists and turns that happened. I cannot wait to get started on reading the rest of the series. Main character is very likable and has realistic crime solving techniques. I would highly recommend this book to mystery lovers!

Archer Mayor writes a different kind of mystery series in that his lead character is an unusual cop and the setting is in the regions of Vermont. This is the first of the series of Joe Gunther mysteries.

Wonderful author and a great first in the Joe Gunther series. Of course, since they take place in Vermont, I have more of a personal interest :)
