This book was not what I expected! I was expecting something like a cozy, but it was more like a coming of age story. The main character was facing the decline of her beloved grandmother, and making some bad decisions based on her desire to be a PI. She is also oblivious to the fact that the "boy next door" adores her. It's a book where everything is fairly resolved and yet I still wanted to know more. I think I will try more from this author.
I wasn't too sure about this one going in - Amazon's free Kindle offerings can be pretty hit and miss - but I'm glad I grabbed it. Stuart takes her heroine from the Amish to Alzheimer's to the awkwardness of unrequited love. The pace of the story will keep you engaged, should the 'Girl Who Punches People in Stomach' fail to. I laughed out of surprise and smiled at the sweetness of the relationships. A good, fairly light read that still has quite a bit of substance. Solid "A"
