t was funny, serious, mysterious and I kept thinking it sounded very much like an Evanovich Stephanie Plum story. I love Doc!

The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was because there were so many references to the first book. A few are understandable and expected but there were just too many for me.

I can't wait to read the next installment from this author.

This series is worth reading, but keep in mind that this isnt some light cozy series, and the book has some illustrations that are unpleasant at times. This series has been listed under horror. Just as in book 1 the incidents are horrific. There is so much more going on in this series than some cute chick solving a few mysteries. There is a vast paranormal and occult issues going on in this town.

Violet has agreed to list a home that has had a recent murder suicide, and a past murder as well. So there is a ghost at this house named Prudence. Doc when he comes into contact with ghosts actually see hows they person died which then wipes him out. So Doc and Violet make a good team. The ending, which also does lead to the solving of some of the mysteries, is graphic, and horrific. Of course Violet survives to trudge on to book 3, but you wonder how she doesnt go crazy with all the bad things that happen to her.
