Reality explodes into the lives of two lovers lost in their own worlds. Their lives diverge like Eurdyce journeying into Hades. The past and present of the three main characters weave a story that kept my attention on every page. Even some of the minor characters are memorable. For an Australian, she has spent enough time in South Carolina to learn the racial history well. Well worth your time to read this book that defies genre.
