Not a lot of fluff or filler here. Don Starkell is direct and to the point. He doesn't seem to pull any punches in any aspect of his life and this book reflects that. If you are not into kayaking or endurance tests, you will probably find this book to be very boring.

The book is a tale of one man's focused mission to paddle most of Canada's northern coast. He has companions along the way, but they quickly tire and can't match Don's will and desire to complete the trip at all costs.
