I must admit that I caught the movie a few months ago and thought it was fabulous. It inspired me to order this book and read it. I loved it. I kept cracking up when he referenced Macaulay Culkin knowing that he ended up in the movie. Anyway, the book tells the story of Michael Alig and how he and a friend killed a drug dealer. It takes place during the rise and fall of the club kid scene which I found interesting. I could hear Seth Green's and Macaulay Culkin's interpretations of the character in the movie version while reading. I enjoyed that. Normally, that would annoy me, but it really helped me hear the story. Overall, I think it was a great read.

I just cannot believe that this story is true! But, there is plenty of documentation about the lives of the "Club Kids" and Michael Alig from the mid 80's to the mid 90's. James St. James has a unique writing style, but you can really feel his personality come through on every page. (Which also helps progress the story. Its a little disjointed and sometimes seems nonsensical, but then you realize what a crazy life these club kids were living and it all comes full circle.) If you've seen the movie, this book definitely helps to expand on the story. Quite a fun read!
