My family along with 30,000 Americans lived in Tehran prior to the Islamic uprising the end of 1978. We heard bits of information about Mossadegh from our Iranian acquaintances but nothing in depth about the loss of his leadership in favor of the Shah. This volume supplies that missing information in a highly engaging narrative. I now understand the undercurrent of love for his leadership that I sensed at the time.

I am so glad that I read this book. I was in Tehran for only a few days in 1964 and was struck by the beauty of the city, and the friendliness of the people. I had no idea that this was going on in that country at the time. It is an amazing history of the events that changed the future of Iran forever.
