I had a hard time getting into this one. The characters weren't well rounded and I couldn't feel any emotional attachment to them so I didn't really care what happened to them. I think the series has potential, but needs a bit of work.

As a first book in a series it was okay. The characters are passably likeable,hopefully they will be a bit more developed as time goes on. Good enough to read the second one.

1st in a new series! I really enjoyed it and I look forward to the next one coming out in the fall. The story is set in Weatherford, TX and mentions the Peach Festival. I live in TX and have heard of the festival but have never been. I just may have to go and check it out!

not very believeable, but a fun read. wish the author understood dementia better. but she does understand retired teachers! And cooks!

This mystery was pretty good, I didn't know til almost the end of the book who was the killer. It does move slower than some of the other mystery books I have read.

"A Peach of a Murder" is the first book in the Fresh-Baked Mystery series. I enjoy the book especially the cooking contest aspect of it. I am hoping that the characters will continue to grow so I am looking forward to reading the 2nd book in the series "Murder by the Slice".

Not great!
This started a little slow, but picked up quickly. It was well writen and had a well developed plot with many twists and turns. the characters were believeable and interesting people with a genuine humaness to them.

Phyllis, a retired school teacher has taken in some borders - also retired teachers - after her husband's death. They're all gearing up for the Peach Festival and the baking competition. But a series of unexplained deaths has Phyllis seeking some answers on her own. Decent read - but I never really got into it.
I enjoyed this book a great deal. It appears I found yet another series that captures my attention. I felt like I wanted to be right there helping Phyllis every step of the way!
Yummy new cozy.
I didn't like this book as much as the other cozy mysteries I've read but it was ok.
Cute fast read.
