I've been quite impressed with the recipes in this book. They are very kid friendly, but go way beyond the typical pb & j school lunch. There are simple ideas to more complex; veggie or meat options; some are quick to make and throw together while others need to be made ahead of time. Banana Snow Pea Crunches (Snow peas split and filled with a banana-cream cheese mix) has become a favorite of my 4 year-old daughter. For moms who feel overwhelmed trying to decide what to make, there's a nifty month-long chart towards the back of the book with a different lunch plan for every day in the month.

Starts off with a very informative discussion of the art of filling a lunch box for your child. Encourages child participation. Lots of anecdotes and advice sprinkled throughout all the pages. Recipes are simple for busy parents, tasty, and good for children to follow with a bit of help from parents. Sampling of recipes: Sesame Cheese Sticks; Tuna-Nut Muffins; Roast Beef Wrappers; Peanut Butter Faces; Goldine's Brownies; Cinnamon Potato Pancakes; and many more.
