A Perfect Vintage by Chelsea Fagan is a great escape if summer at a French chateau isn't in your plans. This was great to read while I was on vacation (definitely not in France) earlier this month.

Lea Mortimer always has answers, whether in her design consultation business or her personal life. Single with no children, she relies on herself and her detailed to-do lists. When dear family members are facing a personal crisis, Lea risks combining business with pleasure and brings her cousin and the cousin's 20-year-old daughter with her to France on a months-long assignment. The outcome is complicated and life-changing ... but are the changes positive or negative?

Read this contemporary romance if you enjoy:
- 30-something heroine
- descriptions of food and fashion
- younger guy/older woman trope (steam: 2 on 5-point scale)
- behind-the-scenes of transforming a French country estate into a boutique hotel

This plot feels like romance plus women's fiction as it includes grief, divorce, abuse, addiction, ageism, and details about renovating an estate. I enjoyed reading about a heroine that was closer to my age than most.

I'm glad a local librarian made me aware of this; otherwise I likely would have missed it.
