This was a fantastic book, relating one woman's experience in the Northern area of occupied Korea during World War II. She chose not to bow down to the idols the Japanese oppressors demanded everyone worship. The book chronicles what happened to her because of this choice. She was and is a Christian, so though the things that happened to her, it also tells of how she overcomes her circumstances through her faith. I loved it and highly recommend it.
