I don't usually listen to books on cd because the monotonous reader's voice puts me to sleep. This cd as other reviewers have stated has nicely done sound effects that really make you feel like you are in the era of the story. I also like that it's a short and fast-moving story that I can listen to in the car when I'm too busy to read a book.

This mystery really isn't too hard to figure out. Though, it is interesting to see how Perry Mason ends up solving the case and how he uses the players to catch the guilty party. At first it was a bit difficult to keep track of the various minor characters, but, that didn't last too long as I got used to this format.

Overall, I'd rate this a 3.5 as it's a good fast-moving story, but, quite easy for the listener to figure out the guilty party. Though, I'd definitely listen to another of the series. Comment | Permalink
