Not a big Koontz reader, but I did enjoy this one. A handful of people are trapped inside a town where an unknown evil is killing ever living thing whether it be man, beast or insect. They band together to try to find a way to destroy it before it destroys them. Very spooky stuff!

This was my first Koontz book so I wasn't sure if I would like it. However, I thought it was great! I have read several of his books since and have become a huge fan of his writing. Maybe just because it was the first book of his I read, but this is one of my favorite books by him for sure! It was very scary!!

I enjoyed this book very much. It was really weird - one of those twisty turny books where you just aren't sure what is going to happen next.

My first Koontz book. Interesting but was pretty predictable to me.

I must say that Phantoms is one of Dean Koontz's better novels. It keeps you in suspense, and the story is very good. I would reccommend!

I'm not too big a fan of Dean Koontz, but I really did like this specfic one. It has the usual amount of suspence and shock-value he has in his other novels

Absolutely stunning book. I could not put this thing down! I always thought Koontz was a decent writer, but now he ranks up there with Dan Brown in my mind!!

An ancient, awesome force has spirited away almost the entire population of Snowfield, a small town in California. The bodies of those remaining have been bizarrely disfigured. What hope can there be for the few people still alive?

They thought it was the work of a maniac or terrorists or toxic contamination--but then they found the truth, which was worse than anything they had imagined...

At first they thought it was the work of a maniac. Or terrorists. Or toxic contamination. Or a bizarre new disease.
But then they found the truth. And they saw it in the flesh. And it was worse than anything any of them had ever imagined....

CLOSER . . .They found the town silent, apparently abandoned. Then they found the first body strangely swollen and still warm. One hundred fifty were dead, 350 missing. But the terror had only begun in the tiny mountain town of Snowfield, California.

The version I have is hardback. It is typical koontz...scary as they come. Not for the feint of heard or super religious...

They found the first body hideously swollen and still warm. Then they found two severed hands. Then two ataring heads in wall ovens. 150 were grotesquely dead and it had hardly begun in the tiny mountain town of Snowfield, California. At first they thought it was a maniac. Then they thought it was an obscene new disease. Then they thought it was the Russians. Then they found out the truth. And they saw it in the flesh. And it was worse than anything any of them had ever imagined.
