I love stories about Egypt so I was excited for this book. Jack and Costas are at it again! I will say, while I loved the book, I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much if it were not set in Egypt. The story, while good, was not Gibbins best work. Good, yes. Best, by far no. If you aren't an ancient Egypt lover, you may not like this as much as his other books. I did enjoy the author notes at the end however. They, like others, told me so much more about the period the book was set in partly. I was astonished to find that so much of the 1884 portion of the novel was true. Good read, can't wait for Pyramid!
