Oh, how different are the mega-rich from you and me! Thoroughly entertaining and extremely funny!

This is a very interesting book about the rich, the super-rich, and mega-rich, and some rich-as-Croesis folks, who, as Fitzgerald asserted, are different from you and me. Sometimes funny, sometimes appalling, worth reading.

An excellent account of one of the richest communities in the U.S., the Hamptons. The vivid and interesting history of the area coupled with the clashes with the new moneyed rich who are taking over the area against the farmers and locals who want the area to remain the same--interesting and reads like a novel. Entertaining!

An unbiased book about the eccentric characters of the Hamptons and the struggles between the "old rich & the "newbies". A fun book.

Reading the Philistines is like going on a really good driving tour of the Hamptons. You get history, you get gossip, you get social commentary, you get, in other words, a feel for the Hamptons and how they came to be The Hamptons.
