'I didn't,' the boy said harshly. Almost under his breath. 'I didn't do anything.'
Charlie waited for him to turn and go away, but he didn't move. Instead, he dropped his eyes to look down at the table. Staring and staring, as if he were mesmerized by the photograph . . .
It's the strangest photograph Charlie has ever taken. Black and orange. The picture of an unknown animal swimming in the river at night.
What animal is it? Why does the picture have such a strong effect on Peter, the boy with the peculiar, staring eyes? And what is it about Peter that disturbs everybody - even his own father?

I was not really sure this was a young adult book. I enjoyed it anyway.
