I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this but I ended up really liking it! The framing device of writing a journal to imaginary people living in space is weird and I'm not sure it works as well as the author wanted it to, but the story itself and the characters were all resonant and memorable. I also loved that the slightly implied romance never became a real focal point in the story; these characters have much bigger issues to deal with. Recommended.
